​This is where you might think you'll see generic, cookie cutter reasons why we are "better than the competiton." Well, we aren't here compete. You have choices and we respect that. 

​Actually, let's drop the "we."

My name is Mikey Criss, I founded Black River Sound & DJ in August of 2022 from nothing.

No investors, no partners, no bottom line to feed. I'm just a guy that enjoys making a vision come to life, so let's talk about YOUR vision for your special occasion!

Okay, so now what?​

I meet with my clients one on one and go much more in depth that just what kind of music you want. Sure the music is important, but there's so much more to it than that. We'll discuss your expectations for your special day in detail and build a timeline of how your event will flow. My duty is to keep your event organized and on schedule, taking the burden away from you so that you and your guests can direct all of your attention to just having a good time!

But I still have to stay on top of these other people I hired!

I also communicate with your other vendors. I work with your caterers to ensure food is ready to be served and dismiss tables to line up in small groups to avoid chaos. I work with your photographer to let them know when when essential moments are going to take place so they can be ready to get those perfect shots. I communicate with officiants, bartenders, venue staff, event planners, security, and all others.

But what about the music? Isn't that why I'm here?

When it comes to the music aspect, I'll accommodate all specific songs needed to go along with special moments. I know how to read a dance floor and when it's time to make shifts in genres or era's of music. If I'm working within specfic playlists I don't just run through them, I cycle through songs based on how the dance floor is responding.
